Here are some lovely words that clients have said about working with me.
I received this from Margaret, a client a few months after she finished the Let Go and Move On Programme. ‘I’ve come a long way since last year! I’m emailing to say thanks. Your method definitely works and it really helped me to get where I am now. Looking into the future while remembering my values has been a good thing for me – I finally feel contented. Being back to work after the summer means that stress will set in and upset this every now and again, but I know how to get here now, by doing the things I love and taking time with the people I love – including myself! I’m just so happy in my own skin!’
‘Before starting the programme I felt stuck, lost and unsure of the future and very apprehensive and hesitant about moving on. I also felt under great pressure to do something ‘amazing’ with my life since I couldn’t be a mother.
I wanted support to move on and to find my way out of feeling that childlessness was defining me. So I was hoping to learn new ways of looking at the situation and to find another way ‘to be’.
And now I have gone back to my old self! I have found ‘me’ again and am finally feeling comfortable in my own skin! My relationship with my husband has also improved as I can finally talk about other things – and I appreciate him much more than I ever have.
I enjoyed writing about my life and my story. It helped me to reflect, or more importantly, accept my life, and all the ups and downs in it.
I enjoyed talking to someone who has come out the other end and has been totally honest about her experience – I valued you as a role-model. I thought – if she can do it, so can I!
Your advice to ‘keep an open mind and be patient’ has worked the best for me and I now realise that motherhood isn’t the only way to happiness. It’s all around me, it comes from within and I get a buzz from the things in my life that have been right under my nose this whole time – husband, friends, family and freedom.
I also wanted motherhood to give me fulfilment in life. Now, I know that it can come from the choices I make and from the things that are important to me.
The programme has made me realise that I can move on, that I can accept that the sadness of not having children is just one part of my life and it won’t stop me from having fun! There are many, many more things that I can do because I don’t have children – I appreciate these all the more now.
It has given me perspective too – I think every way of life has its compensation, everyone has their ups and downs, with or without children. I am no different to anyone else – I just have more freedom!
I would recommend the programme to anyone else – male or female – who has found it difficult to come to terms with childlessness. ‘ Rose, participant on the Let Go and Move on Programme
‘Before we started working together I felt that I had been coasting not really doing anything fulfilling or meaningful. I lacked confidence to try new things or be out of my comfort zone and felt I had little to offer. I was definitely in that dark, but safe cocoon.
I hoped to regain some enthusiasm for life, to feel more confident to try new things and to have a sense of worth.
I realise that I’d become stuck in my grief, unable to move forward. I have now worked through and I understand and accept that all my feelings are ok and natural. The process has allowed me to let go of the past and look towards the future with hope and positivity.
Your empathy has been amazing and has really helped me through this process. If something negative had happened in between sessions, once I brought it to you, I always felt so much better about it afterwards. So many times we can feel that our feelings are silly or unreasonable, but you always acknowledged them and said that it was ok to feel them.
I would recommend you and your services. As the programme can be applied to any area of difficulty in one’s life, I would recommend you to someone not experiencing childlessness issues as well as to those who are. Helen, participant on the Let Go and Move On Programme
‘Before we started working together I felt like an outsider and I hoped to restore my self-confidence, slow down and find some feeling of peace and calm. I now feel more self-confident, happier with who I am and what I have, and more peaceful. I liked your very practical approach with lots of ideas, exercises and techniques to help move me on and to unblock certain areas. I liked it that you have experience of childlessness – this felt very right. Powerful.
I would most definitely recommend you me to other childless people, as I think the combination of your training together with your experience of childlessness means you have something special to offer in that area. I have enjoyed our sessions very much, and wish you loads of success in working with others. Thank you, and very best wishes.’Ruth, participant on the Let Go and Move On Programme
Even though I ended my infertility rollercoaster in 2009 I was still that lost girl watching others move forward with their lives but I was still stuck not knowing which way to go. Suddenly I wasn’t going to have the life I wanted and the girl I had known was lost and I wanted her back! Working with Lesley has helped me to become much better at putting my needs and wants first and this has helped my confidence grow and realise I am capable of so much. The most rewarding part for me was working with Lesley on my values and I keep these with me at all times. Thank you Lesley for helping me to move forward. Molly, participant on the Let Go and Move On Programme
